This Privacy Policy applies to the website https://www.swip.world (the « Website ») and all subdomains, and governs data collection and usage by SWIP. By using the Website, you agree to SWIP processing your personal data as set out below. SWIP shall collect, process and use your personal data in accordance with the data protection law of Switzerland. If you do not agree that your information is used according to this Privacy Policy, you must cease using the Website.

Which information is collected and how it is used

• Personal Information – when you first log into the Website, you will be requested to enter certain personal information: your email address, name and surname, user name and password. Except for your password, such information will, by default, be visible to other Users, but you have the possibility of making such information hidden to other Users. The Website may save other data not relating to your person for the purpose of technical processes, such as IP addresses, browser and operating system – such technical data will be kept confidential by SWIP and will not be disclosed to other Users.Further, you have the possibility to post personal data of your choice, e.g. avatar (picture), company name, address, profession, gender, birthday, your name, place of residence, age, educational and professional background etc., in your « Profile » page on the Website. Such profile information will, by default, be visible to all other Users and may in part appear when you post information on the Website. However, you can choose to hide such information from the view of other Users. You can remove Profile information at any time by deleting data from your Profile page.We shall use your data only to your own benefit, in order to provide you with the services offered on the Website according to the swip.world Terms of Use. In particular, your data will be used by SWIP to identify and help you enter into contact with other Users that match your own profile, i.e. that may be interested in communicating or transacting with you (matching function), to identify projects that may be of interest to you (Challenges, Assignments, Ideas or others), to draw your attention to job offers or to publish advertisement which matches your profile. SWIP will disclose your personal information to third parties (e.g. external service providers) only if this is necessary in order to provide you with these services. SWIP will not disclose your personal information for advertising purposes.By accepting this Privacy Policy, you consent that SWIP will collect and process your Personal Data as described above and further described below.Your email address will be used to send you regular newsletters, notifications related to your use of the Website or answers to enquiries, unless you object to such use.You are responsible for ensuring that any information you provide relates to you and is accurate, complete and remains up to date.

  SWIP does not collect, process, use or disclose sensitive data such as race, religion, or political affiliations etc., without your explicit consent.

• Billing Information – if you are required to provide billing information (bank account number etc.) so that a transaction in relation with your use of the Website can be carried out (e.g. payment of an award in a challenge), such billing information will be kept confidential by SWIP and will be used only for the purpose of carrying out the transaction in question.
• Business Information – we may collect business information that may be used by us in an anonymous aggregated form. This information will not be used with an identification of individual users or individual businesses.
• User communication – email or other communication sent to SWIP may be retained in order to process your inquiries, to respond to your requests and to improve our services.
• Other data you post on the Website – you may post other data on the Website as you deem fit when you use certain services, e.g. when you participate in a particular project on the Website, such as a Challenge, Assignment or Ideas (« Project ») as described in the Terms of Use, when you post a comment or communicate with other Users with the social media function. All such data will be visible to other Users.Please note that when you participate in a Project, it may be required by the Website or by the User who launched such Project that you disclose certain information about yourself, your working method, the contribution you make or your ownership of intellectual property rights. It may not be possible that you participate in the Project or that you receive a compensation for your contribution if you do not post such information, in particular if you do not disclose your current address of residence. In such case, SWIP will use your information only insofar as necessary to ensure your participation in the Project. On the other hand, SWIP does not control and accepts no responsibility for the use that other participants in the Project make of your information.
• External sites – the Website may contain links to other websites. SWIP has no control and accepts no responsibility for the personal information you post on such sites.

Update to your Personal Data

You can access, change or complete your personal information by following the update procedure included on the Website. You may at any time request the cancellation of your User Account, in which case your Personal Data will be deleted. In this case we may, however, retain your Personal Data in our files to resolve disputes, to enforce our Terms of Use and to comply with any technical and legal requirements and constraints related to the security, integrity and operation of the Website.

Publicity Awareness

Whenever you voluntarily post personal data or other information on public areas of the Website (e.g. in your public profile page), you should be aware that this information can be accessed by other Users and can in turn be used by other Users to disclose it to third parties or to send you unsolicited communications, advertisements or for other purposes.
