How often do you get to demonstrate your skills at work and get recognized for your creative approaches?
Businesses join SWIP because they need that creative approach. They want more diversity in their development efforts than they get through the traditional in-house approach. That diversity comes from people like you.
Let’s take a look at how you can showcase your skills while doing interesting work.
SWIP’s Projects section is the central hub for finding Challenges. The contests let you create solutions to business problems in exchange for Awards from the sponsoring organizations. The variety of organizations and Challenges gives our Contributors the flexibility to match their skills to the right project. You will find contests that fall into one of these categories:
Ideation: This is a brainstorming session that produces multiple high-level suggestions.
Concept: Going beyond ideas to a more detailed deliverable, this could be a whitepaper or a design proposal.
Prototype: The most technical Challenge of them all. Design hardware or write code (or both) that a business can turn into a finished product.
Each Challenge is unique, but they all follow a pattern. Creators will describe why they need your help. They will explain what the Challenge must accomplish as well as the specific deliverables Contributors should submit. A clearly-defined set of criteria will explain how the Creators will evaluate proposed solutions.
And best of all, an Award will go to the best solution.
As a neutral party we want SWIP Challenges to be great experiences for both Contributors and Creators. We work with Creators to build Challenges with integrity that are both achievable and fair. Creators must transmit the Awards funds in advance so we can hold everything in escrow.
