Collaboration means as much to our community as problem-solving. A particular Challenge may have only one winner, but the process often sees many Contributors working together.
All Challenge participants see the submitted solutions. They can comment and offer suggestions for improvement. Contributors with complementary solutions can join to produce a solution better than either could create on their own.
Contributors can use SWIP’s Group system to create a team discussion area separate from the Challenge’s comments. Each group can have multiple sub-groups to coordinate specific projects. A group-specific Events calendar lets the team track milestones or schedule discussions.
Collaboration and openness have their limits. After all, you are competing for Awards. Teams can that restrict group access to select members. It will appear in search results within the SWIP site, but only members can see the discussions. Teams can even form a Secret Group that only the group’s members can see.
What happens next is up to each Challenge Creator. Some will grant the Award to the first solution that meets their criteria. Others will select a winner from all the solutions that meet the criteria by a certain deadline. Or they may pick multiple winners to share the Award.
