We are looking for a way to fill cups with two different ice cream flavors simultaneously.
Wendepunkt @ swip.world
The Wendepunkt is a social enterprise and runs its own in-house confectionary. We make ice cream from scratch together with our customers who then fill the 120 ml cups by themselves with an “icing bag”. 5,000 cups are currently sold every year. In the near future, we would like to increase this amount to 10,000 cups per year.
We would like this project to enable us to simplify certain tasks and find another way to fill the cups.
Our goal is to be in a position to offer this delicious ice cream to a wider audience. This is why it is important that the solution must be clearly time-saving.
In addition, the ice cream should be more visually appealing through the new filling method. Customers should see both flavors upon opening the ice cream cup and be able to choose the flavor of their choice.
We are not averse to a solution involving a semi-automatic filling machine, provided that customers can use it themselves.
The goal is for the cups to be filled with two ice cream flavors simultaneously, either by hand or with a semi-automatic machine. The current method does not allow this, as the ice creams vary in consistency; generally, one flavor is a sorbet and the other a creamy ice cream. It is important that the same amounts of each flavor are filled into the cups and that customers find it visually pleasing.
It’s also important that the method works quickly in order to prevent the ice cream from melting at room temperature.
We are looking for a method in which both flavors can be filled in the cups at the same time (vertically).
The innovation should be a way to fill the cups quickly without a large financial expenditure. Like now, clients should be involved in the procedure.
If a semi-automatic machine is to be used in the future, it should cost no more than CHF 7,000.
The ice cream cups must be able to be filled with two different kinds of ice cream, sorbet and creamy ice cream as well as be visually appealing for customers. The method must also be quicker than the current one. If a semi-automatic machine has to be bought, it should cost no more than CHF 7,000.
The award for the winner who comes up with an innovative and easily realizable solution is CHF 200.
